主に2つの意味があります。

「（困難を）乗り越える」「（病気などを）克服する」

回復する

病気などから回復するときに使います。

It took me three weeks to get over a head cold. 鼻風邪を治すのに3週間かかった

He got over the strained back. 彼はぎっくり腰から回復しました

She has not got over her headache yet. 彼女はまだ頭痛から回復していません

My father got over a cancer. 私の父は癌を克服した。
